Valentines Day

SO I think we have found a new tradition. I don't know how I came up with this idea, but I think it stems from one Valentine's Day back when we lived in Denver, CO. My mom had pneumonia and my Aunt Julie flew out to help take care of us while she was sick and it happened to be over Valentine's Day. We had a red dinner and everyone at the table got a fun little gift. I morphed that a bit and combined it with the whole Valentines box in elementary school concept and we made Valentines for eachother and put them in bags that we made before hand. Here is a picture of Max and Jack in front of all the bags. Eldon's parents were gracious enough to participate with us. We had a red dinner except for the vegetables. I hate Beets and you know the concept was working just fine.

OK He's Just TOO Cute

I'm just in love with this kid. He is ALWAYS smiling. ALWAYS.

How to walk a half marathon

I am currently training to walk a half marathon in April. I must be out of my mind because I have not been in shape for about 10 years it seems like and all of a sudden I am thinking I can just go walk 13 miles. But I have found a training plan that is supposed to work but I did my long walk on Saturday which was only 5 miles and I have been flat on my back sick and and absolutely exhausted. I am praying that they are not related, but who knows. I am going to give it my all, and I sure hope that I will be successful. Eldon's mom bought me some great, hip new workout gear and I have the treadmill at home, so if there is any other set up that would be more successful I can't imagine it!

I have been waiting for two years for the boys to actually have fun playing together. Eldon's dad caught this scene the other day in our backyard. There is a lot of bossing by Max, but also a lot of sneakiness by Jack. I LOVE IT!

CRAZY FEB. 15th

We have had a crazy month! First Lisa had her baby on February 15th. The day before, I was talking to her and she was really ornery. I was so glad that she had her baby the next day. I went to the hospital and waited all day but missed when the baby came. I had to leave about 3:30 to go home and send Eldon off to his sing off at the Columbus Symphony. I also had his parents to get there. They were in town for a week as well. What a crazy day! Oh yeah, it was his mom's birthday too! Little Parker was born at 5:11, Eldon won the competition, and it was wonderful long day.

Eldon now competes on May 30. We are working on choosing his song. It's tough. It needs to please the crowd, be big for his voice, not too high, not too low. It has to be perfect. His last song, "If ever I would leave you," was perfect. Eldon is also special. He will only sing certain songs. So, that limits us to fewer options. I know I keep saying "us" like I have anything to do with this. I don't, but I would like to think I do. It will probably be "Bring him home" from Les Miserable. It fits all those requirements, except that he sang it as his audition. We still need to find out if he is going to be judged by a panel or the audience. That will also make a huge difference.

I couldn't close out this blog without a picture of Parker.
